The combination of dark chocolate and nutella makes for the best partners in crime. These brownies are mouthwateringly luscious, served with the choice of vanilla ice cream or double cream; these brownies are the perfect finale to your delicious meal.
You will need:
- a 30x20cm baking tin
- 200g butter
- 300g dark chocolate (70% cocoa solids), chopped
- 500g golden caster sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 160g plain flour
- 60g cocoa powder
- small jar on Nutella
Preheat the oven to 18o°C/350°F. Line the baking tin with grease proof paper.
Then melt the butter and dark chocolate in a bowl set over a pan of simmering water, making sure the
bottom of the bowl is not touching the water. Remove the bowl from the pan, bowl into a mixing bowl, add the sugar and whisk together. Then you’ll want to add the eggs and vanilla extract and whisk well until light and bubbly.
Carefully fold in the flour and cocoa powder, trying to knock out as little air as possible. Pour half the mixture into the baking tray, then spoon 3 big spoons fulls of Nutella on top, spread evenly and then pour the remaining chocolate mixture.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, don’t worry if it has a slight wobble – it will continue to cook as it cools and will become nice and fudgy. It is always best to check with sticking a knife through the middle, if it comes out clean, it is fully cooked.
Allow to cool completely in the tin, then turn out and cut into squares.
Serve with vanilla ice cream or a side of your choice and enjoy your master piece!
