Mother’s Day

Sunday, March 26th

At The Allerford Inn we are honouring the mother of the family, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds and the influence of mothers in society. Mother’s Day continues to be one of the most commercially successful occasions. Mother’s Day is a special day celebrated worldwide. Every year on the fourth Sunday in Lent, people show their appreciation to their mothers with gifts. This tradition has been going for about 400 years and is believed to have started in Britain when young people, who worked away from home, often working long hours, were given a day off by their employers, in order that they could return to their ‘mother church’ where they had been baptised, to spend time with their families. They would return home with small gifts such as flowers for the celebration.

In the tradition of Mother’s Day, we are serving our famous Sunday Carvery but for this day, we are offering a 2 course carvery and dessert for £14, with each mum receiving a complimentary glass of Prosecco to make sure their visit with us on this special day is the best.

Treat the mother in your life and bring her to The Allerford Inn to enjoy a delicious meal, to make sure to you can say thank you and happy Mother’s Day the right way…
